A new prototype of car has come out called the SIM-LEI. This means Leading Efficiency In Wheel Motor. This car is electric and can travel more than 200 miles on one charge. Not only is this car saving tons of energy, but it is also very fast, unlike other electric cars that can't go at high speeds. This car can go from 0 to 60 in about 4 seconds, which is great for an electric car. The secret to the SIM-LEI is the motors in each wheel, giving it more power. The only downfall is that it is not a very attractive car. This car is going to greatly change the electric car industry forever.

A new game is going to debut next year, a South Park video game! South Park is a very famous comedy television show on Comedy Central about a bunch of ten year old boys that have all sorts of stupid adventures. Many kids like this show, so a game will probably satisfy many kids around the globe. The game is going to come out sometime late next year. Apparently, it is a free roam role-playing game and it lets you explore the kid's hometown in Colorado. I think that this game looks very fun.

1st Marking Period

The first marking period has been very educational experience. It was a lot of fun and I learned many things in Web 2.0. I have learned many things about computers and social networking. This Web 2.0 class has taught me so much about technology that I didn't know and it is a very good class that I highly recommend. I have learned things from social networking to creating a blog, to coming up with ideas for a cool new webiste! This is a great class and I'm glad to be in it.

Long Weekend

My long weekend was very fun. I went to Philadelphia, where my uncle lives and we went to an indoor water park called Coco Key. It was very big and lots of fun. This water park has three slides and also a cool water-basketball court. After this, we went to the Camden Adventure Aquarium in Camden. There were many varieties of animals here including sharks, sting rays, alligators, and more! It was a very fun weekend.
This is the shark tunnel that I walked through at Camden Aquarium.

This is Coco Key, a great indoor water resort.

Nintendo bleeds profits, and right before the holiday season. Recently, the Japanese game company posted that they have lost 925.6 million dollars. This is a major increase from last year, which was 26.5 million dollars. The reason as to why they have lost so much money is because the demand for Nintendo consoles and games are cooling. This is because Nintendo really hasn't released anything major in the past few years, only a few new DS versions. Also, Wii is lower in demand now that the PlayStation3 and Xbox360 Kinect are now out and selling fast. If Nintendo doesn't release something new soon, such as the Wii 2 that is planning on being released in 2012, it is probably only going to go downhill from there...

Robotic sailboats are now being built. Their purpose- to clean oil spills. These boat-bots have taken up to three percent out of the Gulf of Mexico so far. The reason why the process is so slow is because they only have "skimmers," that skim the upper parts of the water. This un-manned boat is also very good because nobody has to go out to the waste area and get intoxicated with the fumes and the mess. Also, these robotic boats are very hard to make and require a large amount of money to build. However, once we can accomplish the feat of making one that can actually take out large amounts of oil, the results will be unbelievable.

Grand Theft Auto, a free roam action game that is usually on big time consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox 360 is now coming out on the iPad and other major tablets. The game is going mobile in honor of the game's 10 year anniversary. Grand Theft Auto III is going to launch sometime this fall. It will be available on the iPad, iPhone, and other smart phones and tablets such as Androids and several types of the Galaxy. This is a good idea to me because Grand Theft Auto is a great game series and very well known to many people. I think that this game will sell on the tablets because it is so well known on consoles. However, games that are on consoles are known to be worse on the iPad and such rather than on the console because a game may be harder with no buttons or controls. Either way many are excited for the release of Grand Theft Auto III this Fall.

Tech Article 10/6

About a year ago, India showed a prototype of "The World's Cheapest Tablet Computer." Just Wednesday, India released this item to the world. This tablet computer is currently ranging from $35 to $50, and is considered a valuable tool for learning and also a milestone in India's tech services. There were many difficulties while making this too, including a lot of skepticism and racism. For example, one said, "This couldn't have been done by the Indians." However, it was. The Indians have been working on this project for years and it has finally all paid off. This tablet was originally called the "Sakshat Tablet," but is now called Aakash, or "Sky."

Weekend Highlights

This weekend was very fun. On Friday, I went to a surprise party for my friend. It was a lot of fun hanging out and seeing all of my friends. Saturday I went to the football game that featured Wood-Ridge vs. Saint Mary's. Wood-Ridge lost 28-6, but it was still a fun time. Finally, yesterday, I played some sports and helped my parents decorate the house for Halloween. This was a very fun weekend.

More than half of all teens and adults say that they have been bullied or harassed online. A few days ago, kids took a new poll on Internet Behavior and 56% of all of the kids between the age of 14 and 24 said that they had been bullied through digital media. This is a 50% increase from a similar test in 2009. The results of the test say that the most common forms of harassment include posting rumors online, writing mean things and and sharing texts that were meant to stay private. Also, although many people think that having the ability to remain anonymous on the internet is a major cause of the bullying, it turns out that this is a small factor to the bullying. Most bullying happens by people that the other person is close friends with. Cyber bullying has greatly increased in the past two years.

Users not happy with the new Facebook AGAIN? Once again, Facebook users are not happy with the new Facebook layout. This Wednesday, News Feeds everywhere were popping up with complaints that were very negative and filled with aggravation with another new Facebook layout. "This is absolutely the worst of the many wrong-headed 'improvements' you have made, and that's quite a feat," one Facebook user said. Many people say that this new Facebook is harder to navigate through and also has removed some well-known features. For example, the new Facebook has removed the Top News tab that was on the main news feed. The creators of this new page are saying that the new feed will act like your own personal newspaper. They say that if you check Facebook more frequently, you will see newer stories at the top of your feed. This shows how, in a way, the creators are trying to get people to keep going on Facebook constantly. Whether people like it or not, Facebook is just going to keep on changing with time.

Fall Is Coming

Fall is a great season. It has many fun activities and sports to do and it is a lot of fun. For example, Fall brings apple and pumpkin picking, which is a tradition in my family. Also, football comes around, which is a lot of fun and is very entertaining to watch. Fall brings Halloween, which is one of my favorite holidays. Between all of the candy and spooky scenery, it is a great deal of fun. Posted below is a hyper link to NFL.com. I linked this because football is a sport that starts in the fall, which relates to fall.
